File Naming

The Drive & File Hierarchy

The automation system is not a human; it cannot “search” your computer. It only looks in one specific window. If a file is not in that window, the station goes dark.

Practice:

• Open File Explorer on the Station Computer.
  • Navigate to H:/2025 Video/PJTV23_Programming/Shows/.

The Folder Rule:

• Every show must have its own folder.
  • Example: If you have a show called “Town Hall,” create a folder named Town_Hall.

The File Rule:

• Place your video files inside that folder.
• Good: Shows/Town_Hall/Meeting_March_1st.mp4

NOTE: To avoid using spaces in filenames, use underscores ( _ ) instead. It prevents the code from getting “confused” by the gaps in the text.
